Accounting for Carbon Emissions - Flows, scopes and data

Accounting for Carbon Emissions - Flows, scopes and data

; University of Cambridge

A presentation which considers briefly the reasoning around why carbon emissions are used as a measure in sustainable development, that covers how emission scopes can help identify the boundaries of your responsibility in reporting and a brief look at how the University of Cambridge has reported on scope 1 and 2 emissions and estimated scope 3 in preparation for broader reporting and target setting.

Having studied at UEA and UCL and having worked in sustainability for the local council, for the NHS, as a consultant (focussing mostly on the Middle East region) and following this, having taught geography to secondary and college students, I am now working in the University as the Carbon Manager.  My current focus is on mapping the University’s scope 3 carbon emissions and engaging across the University, so we can prioritise areas to drive carbon reduction.
