Our popular Babraham Institute Sixth-Form Conference (BISFC) will return on Wednesday 27th November, 6-9pm, in the Petersfield Lecture Theatre, Babraham ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Campus.
At BISFC, students will hear a series of lightning talks on our cutting-edge fundamental biology research, as well as finding out more about a variety of careers in bioscience. Participants can also get creative by submitting a scientific poster or piece of artwork to our design competition, with the top entries being invited to present their creation at the conference. This is a brilliant opportunity for students to demonstrate their independent research or design skills, and to experience a taste of a real-life academic conference.
The theme of BISFC 2024 is Proteostasis (Protein homeostasis). This is a key focus of much of our cutting-edge research at the Babraham Institute. Read more about our Proteostasis research here.
Please note this is an in-person event and takes place at the Babraham Institute.
Please note, submitting a poster or art piece to the Design Competition does not register you for the Conference.
Registration for the Conference is now open :
The deadline for registering to attend the conference is Sunday 10th November 2024 at 5pm.

The visual appeal of the poster
For artwork:

How well the piece conveys a scientific concept, and the relevance of this to the Conference theme
The visual/aesthetic appeal of the artwork
Shortlisted entrants to both the poster and art competitions will have their pieces on display at BISFC 2024, where we will announce the overall winners and award prizes.
We will also be creating a digital booklet containing all submitted pieces.
